What is the MS
Bike Ride?
The MS Bike Ride is a
two-day cycling adventure
that raises funds to help fund research to find a cure for MS.
You ride 75 miles the first day
and complete the 150 total miles by riding the same route back the next day.
Remember
this is a ride ... not a race!
The nice thing about the MS bike is that it is what is called "fully supported" which means that as
soon as you start the tour you have a full support crew helping you. This
support includes:
SAG Wagons
(People in vehicles giving
Support And
Gear) They ride along with us on the route - just in case we need some help.
HAM radio operators
(To ensure we are all safe)
Supported "Pit Stops"
about every 10 miles
Food,
Take a break,
Visit with
other riders,
Get a drink of water, Gatorade/PowerAde,
Bike mechanical service,
Medical support,
Bathrooms
Full banquet the night of
the first day
Many other little things
that make the tour a lot of fun.
Remember that because this is a
ride (not a race) it does not matter how fast you do the ride. It matters
most that you are out there on the road riding to raise awareness of Multiple
Sclerosis.
This is a fun way for friends and
families to get together, raise some money for MS research, and have a huge
sense of accomplishment.
